Manager IT Operations

The Manager IT Operations is accountable for the day-to-day delivery, availability, and performance of AAA’s IT services and infrastructure. You will lead the service desk and technical operations, safeguard operational continuity, manage vendor performance, and ensure that IT services support airport and corporate operations around the clock. You will work closely with Information Security, IT Projects, business service owners, and airport-community partners, while maintaining clear ownership, controls, and escalation. This role focuses solely on IT Operations.

 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring operational maintenance, support, and monitoring of the live IT environment to assure availability and performance.
  • Owning the operational execution of incident, problem, change, request, and service-level management, with root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Maintaining the IT service catalogue, support model, escalation paths, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinating lifecycle, patching, capacity, and technical standards for networks, servers, virtualization, storage, endpoints, Microsoft 365, identity, and cloud services.
  • Maintaining backup, restoration, and disaster-recovery arrangements, and lead periodic recovery and failover testing.
  • Leading or supporting IT response during major incidents and crises, including situation reporting and post-incident reviews.
  • Implementing and operate approved IT and Information Security controls, including patching, endpoint protection, logging, access administration, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Act as the IT Operations contact for technology audits, penetration tests, and remediation, in coordination with Information Security.
  • Projects, Vendors & Operational Readiness
  • Provide operational quality control at project gates and confirm service-acceptance and transition-to-operations criteria before go-live.
  • Manage outsourced providers, suppliers, SLAs, licensing, renewals, and vendor access, and validate deliverables and invoices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the IT Operations team and coordinate outsourced support, with clear objectives and coverage.
  • Maintain IT Operations policies, records, KPIs, risk tracking, and audit evidence, and escalate material residual risk.
  • Prepare, manage, and forecast the IT Operations CAPEX and OPEX budget and quality-control procurement within delegated authority.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a comparable field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or service-delivery management, including team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management (preferably ITIL 4) and experience with Microsoft 365, networks, servers, virtualization, backup, and cloud services.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity operations, business continuity, vendor management, procurement, and IT governance.
  • Experience with outsourced providers, audits, budgets, major incidents, and technology change in a business-critical or 24/7 environment.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with a customer-focused and accountable mindset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English and Dutch; Papiamento and Spanish are considered an asset.
