Landside Security Officer

As a Landside Security Officer, you ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of the airport’s public-facing areas. You play a critical role in safeguarding our facilities, managing traffic flow, and maintaining order in the landside area of Aruba Airport.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safety and security of the Airport;
  • Controlling the traffic movements, including the parking areas;
  • Executing access control of users and passengers
  • Assisting with Baggage Handling System processes
  • Ensuring the maintenance of public order and safety & security for the airport facilities, including parking areas;
  • Security control and patrolling of the airport fence and other adjoining areas.

 

Requirements:

  • MAVO or equivalent education level, with at least 2 years working experience;
  • Demonstrates a high level of responsibility, discipline, and integrity. Capable of working both independently with limited supervision and collaboratively as a team player.Able to work and perform effectively under high stressful circumstances;
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in high-stress environments and respond professionally in challenging situations, including when interacting with difficult individuals.
  • Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and achieving results with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Papiamento, Dutch, and Spanish for verbal communication.
  • Willing and able to work full shifts, including in varied and challenging weather conditions. Must be in good physical condition.
  • Affinity with computers and relevant software;
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Department: Security Operations
In this position you will report to the Security Team Leader and Security Lead Officer.
