IT Administrator

Our IT Department is looking for an IT Administrator to support the secure, resilient, and continuous operation of AAA’s IT infrastructure and workplace technology. In this role, you are responsible for administering and maintaining network, server, virtualization, backup, endpoint, and related infrastructure services. You troubleshoot Tier 2 incidents, perform preventive maintenance, support infrastructure improvements, and contribute to the continuity of technology services in a dynamic airport environment.

The ideal candidate is service-oriented, structured, and comfortable working in a dynamic airport environment where reliability, security, and teamwork are essential.

 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Implement, execute, and coordinate assigned IT infrastructure and operations activities arising from the approved IT Roadmap;
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues, problems and incidents within the IT environment;
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset and configuration records, operating procedures, and knowledge articles; execute authorized changes in accordance with established change-management procedures; and support backup monitoring, restore testing, and recovery activities;
  • Implement, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot AAA’s wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, connectivity services, and associated monitoring tools, in accordance with approved standards and security requirements;
  • Apply established cybersecurity controls, including secure configuration, access-management procedures, patching, vulnerability remediation, log and alert follow-up, and timely escalation of suspected security incidents in coordination with the Information Security function;
  • Support IT infrastructure projects by coordinating assigned activities, maintaining technical documentation, assisting with testing and implementation, and supporting operational handover;
  • Manage assigned IT operational and project portfolio activities, including progress follow-up, risk and issue escalation, documentation, status reporting, and coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders;
  • Support IT service continuity and disaster-recovery readiness by participating in tests, maintaining recovery documentation, addressing identified gaps, and coordinating technical incidents and service activities with relevant vendors and service providers;

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in IT infrastructure administration, network operations, systems administration, or a comparable operational technology environment, preferably within a business-critical or 24/7 organization;
  • Strong technical experience with Cisco network equipment and relevant professional certification, such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent;
  • Proven network troubleshooting experience and hands-on experience with different network technologies;
  • Experience with firewalls and VMware;
  • Experience with PBX systems is a plus;
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Hands-on mentality, with strong communication skills when working with end users and colleagues;
  • Willingness and ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies;
  • Flexible and open to after-hours work;
  • Fluent in Dutch, English, and Papiamento. Spanish is desirable but not required.
