Application & Integration Specialist
As the Application & Integration Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of AAA’s application and API landscape across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will manage and mature our API middleware platform, define and enforce integration standards, support the onboarding of new applications, and safeguard the seamless flow of information across critical airport systems, all essential for our 24/7 operational environment. In this role, you ensure enterprisewide alignment in architecture, integration governance, and solution quality.
Main responsibilities include:
- Defining and maintaining enterprise application architecture standards and integration blueprints.
- Leading application lifecycle governance, including security, design reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Evaluating new applications for scalability, security, data classification, and integration impact.
- Designing, configuring, and managing API platforms (gateway, developer portal, policies, monitoring).
- Building and maintaining AAA’s integration architecture, including REST/GraphQL APIs, queues, ETL/ELT, event-driven patterns, and hybrid, on-prem, cloud connectors.
- Maintaining API observability dashboards to ensure reliability, uptime, and early issue detection.
- Ensuring applications and integrations support airport operations and passenger-focused services.
- Collaborating closely with internal teams, vendors, and airport stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and sustainable solutions.
- Championing modernization efforts aligned with AAA’s digital strategy and operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical background in application development, architecture, or systems integration.
- Experience with APIs, middleware, cloud platforms, and modern integration patterns.
- Ability to design and enforce standards that enhance reliability, security, and scalability.
- Passion for continuous improvement and modernizing legacy environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary airport teams.
Unit: IT
The Application & Integration Specialist reports directly to the IT Manager.
